Not every refurbishedis the same.
Refurbished or just reinstalled?
The term 'refurbished' is not legally protected. As a result, a wiped laptop with a fresh Windows installation can already be sold as refurbished. A true refurbisher opens, cleans, tests and repairs the device where necessary. So do not only look at the label, but above all at the process behind it.
Has the thermal paste been replaced?
Dried-out thermal paste dissipates heat less well. As a result a laptop can get hotter and the fan has to work harder. At Qwerty-Tech we renew the thermal paste, so the processor can dissipate its heat efficiently again.
How healthy is the battery really?
A battery that still starts up is not automatically a good battery. That is why we measure the remaining capacity and assess the battery condition. That way you know in advance what to expect from the battery of your refurbished ThinkPad.
Has the laptop really been thoroughly tested?
A visual check does not reveal unstable memory, a slow SSD or overheating. That is why we also test CPU, RAM, storage, battery and screen under load. That is exactly when hidden problems become visible.
Can old data still be recovered?
A quick reset or new Windows installation does not always remove old data securely. That is why we erase storage media according to the NIST SP 800-88 guidelines. After that we install Windows 11 Pro completely clean.
Do you know exactly what you are receiving?
"Good condition" says little without clear criteria. Every refurbished laptop from Qwerty-Tech therefore gets a concrete condition class with a clear description of possible signs of use. That way you can compare in a targeted way and you won't be faced with surprises.
What is covered by the warranty?

We inspect the screen, keyboard, trackpad, ports, casing and cooling for damage, wear and deviations. Only then do we determine which work and parts are needed.

Dust-free down to the cooling fins
We do not only clean the casing. The fan, cooling fins and accessible internal parts are also carefully made dust-free. That way the cooling can breathe freely again.

Better heat- transfer
Old thermal paste is removed and replaced. The new thermal paste improves the contact between processor and cooling, so heat can be dissipated more efficiently.

What is worn gets fixed
We replace parts when measurements or inspection show this is necessary. Think of the battery, keyboard, trackpad or the internal CMOS battery. Not based on guesswork, but based on the condition of the device.

No data from the previous owner
The storage is securely erased according to NIST SP 800-88. After that the refurbished ThinkPad gets a clean installation of Windows 11 Pro, without files or settings from the previous user.

Only approved after the stress test
We test processor, memory, SSD, battery and screen separately and under load. Only a stable laptop that passes our checks is prepared for sale.
