Current storage capacity

Storage capacity.

Storage capacity refers to the amount of data or information that a device, such as a hard drive, solid-state drive (SSD), smartphone or tablet, can store. It is measured in gigabytes (GB) or terabytes (TB). One gigabyte equals 1,000 megabytes, and one terabyte equals 1,000 gigabytes.

When determining the number of photos you can upload, we need to take into account the size of the photos and the compression level. On average a digital photo can be between 2MB and 10MB in size, depending on the resolution and the quality of the photo. For the estimate we assume an average photo size of 5MB.

Let's now estimate the number of photos you can upload with different storage capacities:

  1. With 128GB you can therefore upload about 25,600 photos.
  1. With 256GB you can upload about 51,200 photos.
  1. With 512GB you can upload about 102,400 photos.
  1. With 1TB you can upload about 200,000 photos.
  1. With 2TB you can upload about 400,000 photos.

Keep in mind that these are estimates based on the assumed average photo size. The actual number of photos you can upload may vary depending on the actual size of the photos and the compression level. In addition, it is important that an ''x'' portion of your hard drive is reserved for (the operating system and any programs).
